NBA Trade Rumors: Kings Won’t Deal DeMarcus Cousins This Year ‘For Sure’

DeMarcus Cousins’ career with the Sacramento Kings won’t end anytime soon, that’s for sure.

Such certainty comes straight from the mouth of general manager Vlade Divac, who assured reporters Tuesday that Sacramento won’t trade Cousins, according to Sean Cunningham of KXTV Sacramento.

Divac revealed his intentions for Cousins during new Kings head coach Dave Joerger’s introductory news conference.

Cousins, 25, has spent his entire six-year NBA career with the Kings but also has been the subject of intense trade speculation in recent months, with the Boston Celtics among rumored destinations.

The two-time NBA All Star had numerous run-ins with former coach George Karl, but the Kings apparently are confident Joerger can handle the mercurial center.

Time will tell whether Divac’s pledge is merely talk or a negotiating ploy for potential suitors.
