Rick Porcello, Red Sox Look To Keep Rolling Vs. Defending Champion Royals

After a one-day delay, Rick Porcello and the Boston Red Sox will get back to business Tuesday night in Kansas City.

Porcello, who was scheduled to pitch Monday before heavy rains at Kauffman Stadium forced the series opener between the Red Sox and Royals to be postponed, will look to improve to 7-1 on the season as he takes the mound opposite Kansas City right-hander Yordano Ventura.

The Sox are coming off a wildly successful homestand during which they posted a 6-1 record and averaged 10.4 runs per game. Tuesday will mark their first meeting of the season with the Royals, who emerged as World Series champions in 2015 and have won each of the last two American League pennants.

Kansas City has struggled so far this season, however, entering with a 18-19 record and trailing the AL Central-leading Chicago White Sox by 5 1/2 games.
