Sharks’ Marc-Edouard Vlasic Takes Shea Weber Shot To Face, Saved By Visor

Marc-Edouard Vlasic’s visor prevented what could have been a very scary scene Sunday night in San Jose.

Vlasic was stationed at the top of the crease when Nashville Predators defenseman Shea Weber unleashed a shot from the blue line that struck the Sharks D-man right between the eyes.

Here’s where we remind you that Weber has won the Hardest Shot competition at each of the last two NHL All-Star Games, with his hardest clocking in at 108.5 mph.

Vlasic went down to the ice in a heap, but thankfully, Weber’s blast hit him in the perfect spot — well, as perfect as you can get when you’re talking about 100-plus mph slap shots to the face.

A few inches lower, and he’d have lost a few teeth at the very least. Instead, he was able to skate away and remain in the game, which the Sharks went on to win 3-2 to take a 2-0 lead in their second-round Stanley Cup playoff series.
