Shirtless Hanley Ramirez Hijacks JBJ Interview With Workout In The Rain

The Boston Red Sox — specifically, Hanley Ramirez — are having plenty of fun so far this season.

The Red Sox first baseman has made a fairly seamless transition to his new position, where he’s provided (mostly) adequate defense, which is a nice change of pace from last season’s outfield disaster.

Ramirez also looks much more engaged this season. Aside from his head-scratching bunt attempt Saturday against the Houston Astros, Ramirez seems focused between the lines. And he is showing an ability to keep things loose, as he proved Monday afternoon in Kansas City.

Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr., who just earned American League Player of the Week honors, spoke with MLB Network’s “The Rundown,” and his interview ultimately was interrupted by a shirtless Ramirez. With rain falling at Kauffman Stadium, Ramirez walked right into the shot, did some flexing and then did some jumping jacks followed by shadow boxing.

The weather might be the only thing that can extinguish the red hot Red Sox right now. Boston just won six of seven on its previous homestand and is 24-14 entering a series with the Royals, which might explain why Ramirez is in such a good mood.
