Cleveland has a champion, and his name is Stipe Miocic.

Miocic entered hostile territory Saturday at UFC 198 to fight heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum in the main event at Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, Brazil, and he exited with the title around his waist.

Miocic improved his record to 15-2 thanks to his knock out of Werdum at the 2:47 mark in Round 1.

It was a relatively even fight until the KO, with Miocic holding a slight edge in significant strikes at 20-15. But all he needed was that one moment, and he made the most of it.

As a result, there will be plenty of celebrating in his hometown of Cleveland.
