Tom Brady Heaps Praise On Stephen Curry After Warriors Star Earns MVP

Stephen Curry just became the NBA’s version of Tom Brady, so the New England Patriots quarterback obviously has an appreciation for what the Golden State Warriors star accomplished.

Curry was voted the NBA’s first ever unanimous MVP on Tuesday, following in the footsteps of Brady, who became the NFL’s first ever unanimous MVP in his 2010 season. Both are impressive feats, and Brady, who grew up in California, is amazed by Curry’s basketball greatness.

“He is such a dominant player and so much fun to watch,” Brady told CSNNE.com in an email Tuesday afternoon. “I grew up loving the Warriors and can’t believe they are achieving the type of success now that they never did in the past. Steph is a huge part of that and I love how Jerry West (a member of the Warriors executive board since 2011) helped build the team. I am a big fan of his also.”

This is a huge time for Under Armour, whose incredible stable of athletes includes the likes of Brady, Curry, Cam Newton, Jordan Spieth and Bryce Harper, who reportedly just signed the largest endorsement deal ever given to a Major League Baseball player. Curry’s MVP award, which could precede another title for the defending champion Warriors, has to make everyone involved with the company feel good about the way things are going.

“I know how hard Steph works and how great of a team player he is,” Brady said in the email, according to CSNNE.com. “He must be really smart for choosing to sign with UA — nobody is more up and coming than them. Makes for a great team.”

Curry still has some ground to cover on the hardwood before he reaches Brady’s legendary gridiron status. But he’s on his way, especially with TB12’s stamp of approval.
