The horse racing season revs into high gear Saturday at Churchill Downs with the 142nd running of the prestigious Kentucky Derby.
Last year, American Pharoah won the race and proceeded to win the Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes en route to a historic triple crown. He’s not racing in 2016, so a new horse will emerge victorious and begin a path to the sport’s most elusive achievement.
