Former Major League Baseball pitcher Curt Schilling offered his thoughts on the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history Sunday.

Fifty people were killed and 53 others were wounded at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, early Sunday morning. Here is everything we know so far, via NPR.

Schilling, who sent out a series of tweets about gun control and Islam, was one of many athletes who reacted on Twitter to the shooting.

He also wrote a post on his blog 38 Pitches, which you can read here.

Schilling is no stranger to controversial comments, as he recently was fired by ESPN after he shared an anti-transgender meme on his Facebook page.
