Brock Lesnar might not be the only superstar crossing over between WWE and UFC.

After allowing Lesnar to make a return to the octagon at UFC 200 next month, WWE is hoping a few popular UFC fighters will be allowed to make appearances at SummerSlam — the company’s second-biggest event of the year — Forbes wrote Tuesday, citing sources.

Specifically, though, it seems WWE is after Ronda Rousey for WrestleMania 33.

From Forbes:

WWE is hoping that by allowing Lesnar to compete at UFC 200 (and perhaps beyond) it will open the doors for some things in return from UFC. Mainly WWE is hopeful for two things in return.

For one, they are hoping not only to get additional promotion for ‘SummerSlam’, likely at UFC 200, but are also looking to get UFC stars to appear at the event.

WWE is also hopeful that they will be allowed to use Ronda Rousey at ‘WrestleMania 33′ in Orlando, Florida. While her in-ring segment at ‘WrestleMania 31′ with ‘The Rock’, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H was a memorable moment, WWE is hoping they can secure Rousey for an actual match at their biggest event of the year.

As for those other stars, there already are rumors that Paige VanZant could make an appearance at SummerSlam, and rumors of Conor McGregor changing teams went viral earlier this year. (Though the latter is highly unlikely).

McGregor’s next fight conveniently will be at UFC 202 on Aug. 20 — the day before SummerSlam. With former WWE World Heavyweight champion CM Punk slated to make his UFC debut just hours before McGregor, it seems the crossover goodwill is growing stronger by the day.

Of course, nothing is confirmed. For now, it’s just a rumor. But this certainly looks like it could be the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
