NBA Trade Rumors: Knicks Have Had ‘Discussions’ About Bulls’ Derrick Rose

The New York Knicks reportedly are showing interest in Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose.

ESPN.com’s Ian Begley reported Friday, citing league sources, that “the Knicks have had internal discussions recently about trading for Rose.”

Rose was the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in 2011 but has been ravaged by injuries ever since, appearing in just 166 games over the past four seasons. He played in 66 games for Chicago this season and posted the second-lowest scoring average of his career (16.4 points per game).

The Knicks, meanwhile, finished with the third-worst record in the Eastern Conference this season, with only the lowly Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers turning in worse campaigns.

New York certainly could use help at the point guard position — Jose Calderon is the Knicks’ current starter — but Rose has done little over the past few seasons to prove he still contribute at anywhere close to an All-Star level.
