The Boston Red Sox left the basement and went directly to the penthouse suite.

After the Red Sox finished last in the American League East for two consecutive seasons, this year’s team looks somewhat similar to the club that won the World Series in 2013. A lot of the names have changed, sure, but Boston is playing with a ton of energy. And everyone seems to be buying in.

Boston’s hot start is the hot topic of the first episode of “The Dish,” NESN.com’s new baseball web series that will air throughout the 2016 season. NESN.com’s staff, as well as NESN studio analyst Steve Lyons, broke down the Red Sox’s performance at the quarter-season mark, even handing out grades and superlatives along the way.

All of the baseball goodness can be found in the video above, and be sure to check back with NESN.com and NESN’s YouTube page throughout the MLB season for more of “The Dish.”
