In addition to being an Internet golf sensation, Paige Spiranac now can call herself a champion, too.
Spiranac has been in the national spotlight for a while now, thanks to her sizzling Instagram account, but she had yet to back up her social media presence with a professional victory. And her list of critics continued to grow every week, especially when she landed on the cover of Golf Digest in April.
But Spiranac proved them all wrong this week with her first professional win on the Cactus Tour at Orange Tree in Scottsdale, Ariz. Spiranac shot a final-round 68 and beat amateur Hannah O’Sullivan in a playoff.
