Two of the Boston Red Sox’s most highly regarded prospects will make the trip to San Diego next month to participate in the 2016 Major League Baseball All-Star Futures Game.

Outfielder Andrew Benintendi will suit up for Team USA in the annual prospect showcase, which is set for July 10 at Petco Park, while infielder Yoan Moncada, a native of Cuba, will join Team World.

Moncada and Benintendi are the Nos. 1 and 3 prospects, respectively, in the Red Sox organization, according to MLB.com’s rankings. Both began the season at High-A Salem and since have been promoted to Double-A Portland.

Moncada, who was promoted just last week, has played in 67 games between the two levels this season, compiling a .306/.416/.490 slash line with 26 doubles, three triples, 45 walks, five home runs and 38 RBIs.

Benintendi, Boston’s top pick in the 2015 MLB Draft, has appeared in 36 games with Portland after spending his first 34 games of the season at Salem. Over those 70 contests, the University of Arkansas product has posted .302/.366/.487 marks with 23 doubles, eight triples, four homers and 54 RBIs. He has multiple hits in 13 of his 36 games for the Sea Dogs, including nine of his last 16.
