Drew Pomeranz wasn’t the only pitcher making his debut for his new team Wednesday night.

Anderson Espinoza, who was traded to the San Diego Padres by the Boston Red Sox for Pomeranz last week, made his Padres organizational debut Wednesday with Class-A Fort Wayne. And, like Pomeranz, it didn’t exactly go according to plan.

Espinoza allowed four earned runs on seven hits with two walks and a strikeout in three innings of work for the TinCaps against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

Pomeranz also pitched three innings for the Red Sox, allowing five earned runs on eight hits with two walks and four strikeouts.
