Cris Carter’s Son Trucks Over Opposing Coach After TD, Sparking Brawl

Duron Carter, son of Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter, probably caught some NFL teams’ attention Thursday night, although not for the most flattering reason.

Carter, a receiver who plays for the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes, reeled in a touchdown catch in the third quarter of his team’s game against the Ottawa Redblacks. It was a nice grab, as he fought off some tight coverage and withstood a crushing blow, but his antics after the play were questionable.

The 25-year-old celebrated his TD by stomping over to the Ottawa sideline, at which point he knocked over an opposing coach. A little brawl then ensued as Redblacks players rushed to their coach’s defense. Carter was ejected.

Carter went undrafted in 2013 after a tumultuous college career. He eventually signed with the Indianapolis Colts but never appeared in game before becoming a free agent and signing with the Alouettes in January.

Perhaps Carter someday will return to the NFL. But incidents like Thursday’s won’t help.
