Fantasy Football Rankings: Redskins Players You Should Draft, Avoid This Season

The Washington Redskins were one of the biggest surprises in the NFL last season, but can they possibly improve on their 9-7 mark and NFC East title?

Only time will tell, but they should have some solid players for fantasy football owners to rely on nonetheless.

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at some of the players you should draft, potential sleepers and the ones you should avoid.

DRAFT-WORTHY
Jordan Reed, Tight End: Reed has the potential to be the second-best tight end in the league behind Rob Gronkowski, and he’s become one of the main focal points of Washington’s offense. Drafting him as early as the third round would be a very smart move.

Kirk Cousins, Quarterback: Yes, there’s the ongoing contract issue to keep an eye on, but reports indicate he’s willing to play this season under the franchise tag if it comes to that. Cousins finally took the reigns at QB last season, and his stats were quite impressive. He’s a solid option for your starting quarterback, but don’t draft him until the middle or late rounds.

AVOID
DeSean Jackson, Wide Receiver: Gone are the days when fantasy owners would fight each other to draft Jackson as their No. 1 receiver. The trend line for Jackson certainly is pointing down, as he only had 528 yards and four touchdowns in 2015. He’s at best an option for your last wideout spot or flex player at this point in his career.

SLEEPER
Josh Doctson, Wide Receiver: The Redskins’ receiver of the future isn’t a bad option for your fantasy team. Sure, he’ll have to earn his reps with Jackson and Pierre Garcon ahead of him on the depth chart, but taking a late flyer on him and stacking him on your bench is a low-risk move that could pay off big.
