Patriots’ Rob Ninkovich Has No Time For ‘Stupid’ Deflategate Chatter

The New England Patriots can’t escape the Deflategate noise.

Unless, of course, they’re taking care of business on the practice field or in the film room, at which point the underinflated football scandal isn’t even mentioned, according to Patriots defensive end/linebacker Rob Ninkovich.

“Honestly, no, we don’t talk about it,” Ninkovich said Tuesday on WEEI’s “Ordway, Merloni and Fauria” when the topic came up. “It was last year — what was it? Two years ago? How long ago was it? It’s something that you can’t really think about, talk about because it’s not going to help you.”

Ninkovich, like most people at this point, simply doesn’t have time for such nonsense, though Tom Brady’s four-game suspension related to Deflategate somehow still hangs in the balance.

“Really for me, I’m not a quarterback, I’m not a receiver. I don’t know,” Ninkovich added of the Deflategate drama. “The whole thing is just stupid. There are a lot of things going on that shouldn’t last for two years, three years, four years, I don’t know.”

The Pats, more than anyone, need to use selective hearing. That’s for sure.
