Unless you’ve been living under a rock, chances are you’re well aware of Pokémon Go by now.

Well, apparently John Lackey has been living under a rock.

The popular augmented reality app that’s sweeping the nation has spread to the Chicago Cubs’ clubhouse, where pitcher Jason Hammel says he’s already “caught” a few Pokémon. But when ESPN.com’s Jesse Rogers asked Lackey if he’s joined in on the fun, the Cubs pitcher responded with bewilderment.

“Huh?,” Lackey said, via ESPN. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

After receiving an explanation, the 37-year-old pitcher followed up with an excellent old guy comment.

“Hammel and I are totally different people,” Lackey said. “I don’t have any games on my phone. Oh, wait. I do have Madden on my phone. My son put that on. Shuts him up sometimes at a restaurant.”

Lackey has a full-time job throwing baseballs for a living, so we’ll forgive the former Boston Red Sox right-hander for not being up on what the kids are doing these days.

He’s also not alone — teammate David Ross is more app-savvy, but the Pokémon Go craze apparently has missed the 39-year-old former Red Sox catcher, as well.

“The kids got me into Angry Birds,” Ross said. “I have the Crazy Taxi. I got hooked on this Crossy Road thing. This duck thing. Drives me crazy. I don’t know why I play it, and I don’t know anything about Pokemon.”

At least they’re good at their day jobs.
