Taylor Heinicke might want to invest in Netflix.

The Minnesota Vikings backup quarterback revealed Thursday that he suffered a leg injury a couple of weeks ago while trying to break into his own home following a late-night trip to the movies.

“I was locked out of my house after a late-night movie,’’ Heinicke told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. “I came back and there’s no one home, and I’m trying to nudge the door a little. It was one of those double doors. I thought it just needed a little nudge.

“Me and my buddy were getting it going a little, but when I put my foot to the door, my foot kind of slipped and it went through a window. It was just kind of a freak accident. I’m very embarrassed, but I’m just excited getting going with rehab and trying to get this going as soon as possible.”

Heinicke, who required surgery, reported to Vikings training camp with his foot in a cast. He’s reportedly hoping to be ready for the start of the regular season, at which point he’s expected to be Minnesota’s third-string quarterback behind Teddy Bridgewater and Shaun Hill.

For the record, Heinicke said he saw “The Conjuring 2” on the night of his unfortunate mishap.
