A young Boston Red Sox fan caught Dustin Pedroia’s foul ball Thursday night at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif. The fan initially felt the joy of landing a free souvenir on a fine play, but his sense of showmanship prompted him to make the most of his moment in the spotlight.
The kid’s epic eighth-inning bow didn’t inspire the Red Sox to victory, as the Angels scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to snatch the win.
Maybe the game would have turned out differently if the fan made the catch closer to his spiritual home: Fenway Park.
