Adam Jones Takes Shot At Tim Tebow Over Former NFL QB’s MLB Dreams

We could be mistaken, but it sounds like Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones is a bit skeptical of Tim Tebow’s plan to begin a professional baseball career.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday that Tebow plans to hold a workout for Major League Baseball teams later this month. Tebow hasn’t played competitive baseball since high school, and reaching the big leagues is no easy task, but there are some, including former major league outfielder Gary Sheffield, who think the former NFL quarterback could excel on the diamond.

Jones just isn’t buying the hype, judging by the following tweet, which doesn’t mention Tebow by name but seemingly is a subtle jab at the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, who turns 29 this weekend.

Jones’ doubt is understandable. But Tebow’s been dealing with haters for a long time, so it’s unlikely this will faze him as he begins a new chapter in his athletic career — a chapter that could be very short.
