UPDATE (4:36 p.m. ET): Jonathan Lucroy confirmed on Twitter that he has been traded from the Milwaukee Brewers to the Texas Rangers.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Texas Rangers are going all in for 2016.

Just a short while after trading for outfielder Carlos Beltran from the New York Yankees, the Rangers landed one of the best players available by acquiring All-Star catcher Jonathan Lucroy from the Milwaukee Brewers. Texas also acquired relief pitcher Jeremy Jeffress in the deal.

The Rangers gave up prospects Lewis Brinson and Luis Ortiz in this trade, per Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Texas, which leads the American League West by six games entering Monday, now has the firepower needed to make the playoffs again in 2016.
