Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic, the world’s leading singles tennis players, shoulder the loftiest of expectations for the 2016 U.S. Open Tennis Championships.

Williams and Djokovic were named top seeds in the women’s and men’s singles tournament, respectively, in the U.S. Open 2016 draw, which took place Friday in New York. Djokovic is trying to defend the title he won in 2015. Williams wants to reclaim the title she last won in 2014.

Second-seeded Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka (third) and Rafael Nadal (fourth) headline the list of contenders to beat Nadal for the men’s title.

Angelique Kerber, the second seed on the women’s side, and Garbine Muguruza (third) aim to triumph in the Big Apple and knock Williams from her perch.

The 2016 U.S. Open runs from Monday, Aug. 29, through Sept. 11 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York.
