The United States will look to extend its undefeated streak to 19 games when it faces Sweden on Friday in the quarterfinals of the Olympic women’s soccer tournament as a strong -280 favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Americans have been simply dominant in 2016, outscoring opponents by a 57-6 margin while amassing a 16-0-2 record over their past 18 contests heading into Friday afternoon’s matchup against Sweden at Estadio Nacional in Brasilia.

Not surprisingly, the Americans also are dominating on the Olympic women’s soccer futures, where they are perched as +120 favorites to win the gold medal (wager $100 to win $120) after opening the tournament at odds of +150.

Team USA continued its winning ways during the group stage, claiming shutout victories over New Zealand and France before wrapping up with a 2-2 draw against Colombia to clinch the top spot on the Group G table.

Sweden is listed as a +650 underdog in its date with the USA after grabbing a knockout-stage berth with a 1-1-1 group-stage record. Sweden sits well back of the Americans at +2200 to win the gold medal. However, the Swedes have held the edge in recent meetings with the USA, recording a win and draw in clashes at the 2011 and 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cups.

Elsewhere, Germany battles China on Friday afternoon as -235 chalk. The six-time defending European champion and three-time Olympic silver medalist Germans traveled to Rio as a +325 bet to win gold, but they now face a tougher road after falling 2-1 to Canada in their group-stage finale. That sets the stage for a possible semifinal showdown with the USA.

China scored just twice en route to a second-place finish in Group E and is a heavy +525 underdog against Germany, which has outscored the Chinese by a 9-0 margin in two previous meetings. China sits at +2800 to win the gold medal.

The Canadians will look to advance to the Olympic semifinals for a second consecutive time when they meet France in the quarterfinals as +355 underdogs. Canada’s 2-1 upset of Germany left the team undefeated during the group stage, but it is back at +1000 on the gold medal odds.

Listed as -140 chalk in Friday’s matchup, and an attractive +500 to win the tournament, France will look to avenge its loss to Canada in the bronze medal game at the 2012 Olympics in London.

Rounding out the quarterfinals, Brazil owns +325 odds of winning gold and is a healthy -220 favorite in its quarterfinal against Australia, which lags at +2500 on the gold medal odds.
