The Boston Red Sox had to make some roster moves Sunday before they could play their series finale with the Tigers in Detroit.

Boston recalled left-handed pitcher Henry Owens from Triple-A to start in Sunday’s 1:10 p.m. ET matchup in place of Eduardo Rodriguez, who was scratched from the outing with hamstring tightness following Saturday’s 3-2 win. The team optioned Deven Marrero to Pawtucket as a result.

Owens made three starts in the majors this season with poor results but has performed well with the PawSox of late. The lefty is 8-6 with a 3.70 ERA through 21 starts in Pawtucket this season.

As for the other side of the ball, Sandy Leon is back in the lineup after a night off, catching for Owens and batting seventh. Travis Shaw also is starting and batting eighth after riding the pine for the first three games of the series.
