Report: Tom Brady Will Travel For Patriots’ Preseason Game Vs. Giants

Unless Tom Brady is just hitching a free ride with the New England Patriots to visit his new $20 million New York apartment, it seems like the quarterback will play Thursday night.

Brady is traveling with the Patriots for the preseason finale against the Giants at MetLife Stadium, CSNNE.com’s Tom E. Curran reported Wednesday. Jimmy Garoppolo and rookie Jacoby Brissett, New England’s other quarterbacks, also will make the trip, according to Curran.

Brady sat out the Patriots’ first two preseason games before suiting up and playing Friday against the Carolina Panthers. He expressed his desire Tuesday to play against the Giants.

It would seem pointless to have Brady travel to New York just for him to stand on the sideline and watch Garoppolo and Brissett.

Starters typically don’t play deep into the final preseason game, and this year, Brady and Garoppolo both could be considered first-teamers. Brady’s four-game Deflategate suspension will begin this weekend, and Garoppolo will start in his place all September.
