The Boston Red Sox have several players enjoying big seasons, but two in particular have stood above the rest in terms of potentially landing individual hardware.

Mookie Betts has been on fire of late, emphatically thrusting him into the American League MVP picture. Rick Porcello, meanwhile, has been holding it down for Boston on the pitching side, making his AL Cy Young candidacy an intriguing one.

So, will Betts and/or Porcello win their respective award races?

Each player’s September performance will go a long way toward determining such, but NESN.com’s Sam Galanis looked at where they stand as the calendar flips to September on the latest episode of “The Dish,” NESN.com’s new baseball web series that will air throughout the 2016 season.

NESN’s Steve Lyons also stopped by to discuss Andrew Benintendi’s early success with Boston before going down with an injury and whether Red Sox top prospect Yoan Moncada could soon join him in the majors.

All of the baseball fun can be found in the video above, and be sure to check back with NESN.com and NESN’s YouTube page throughout the MLB season for more of “The Dish.”
