Weird things tend to happen at Tropicana Field, which often plays more like a carnival game than a baseball stadium.

Minnesota Twins slugger Miguel Sano joined the fun Sunday by hitting a ball off the roof, marking the first time anyone has ever accomplished that feat at the home of the Tampa Bay Rays.

“I think it would’ve hit the roof if it was 30 feet higher. It didn’t just graze it,” Twins manager Paul Molitor said of the roof shot, according to MLB.com. “He got the catwalk last year, he got the roof this year.”

To his credit, Rays third baseman Evan Longoria stuck with the sky-high popup and caught it for an out — an equally impressive accomplishment.
