Yasiel PuigĀ is having a rough day.

The Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder was told not to travel with L.A. for their three-game series with the Colorado Rockies and that he would either be traded or sent to the minor leagues, sources told FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal. Los Angeles didn’t trade him before Monday’s 4 p.m. ET.

Puig’s agent later clarified what happened to Rosenthal.

So it appears Puig has played his final game in a Dodgers uniform.

He entered Major League Baseball with high expectations, and he came in second in National League Rookie of the Year voting and was an All-Star in his second season. But his numbers have dropped off drastically the last two seasons, and he has battled hamstring injuries this year.

The Dodgers didn’t find a match in a trade for Puig, but they did acquire left-hander Rich Hill and outfielder Josh Reddick from the Oakland Athletics.
