Curt Schilling wants to get into politics, and his goal extends all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

The former Boston Red Sox pitcher told TMZ on Wednesday “I’d love to give the White House a try,” while also hinting that a 2018 United States Senate run against Democratic incumbent Elizabeth Warren is possible.

It’s not the first time Schilling has expressed some sort of desire to run for Warren’s seat, or to see her lose her next election. He did so in August as well.

Warren won her Senate seat in 2012 after defeating Republican incumbent Scott Brown. The seat was long held by Ted Kennedy, who died in 2009. Brown defeated Martha Coakley in a special election in 2010 before losing to Warren.

The other U.S. Senator from Massachusetts is Democrat Edward Markey, who won John Kerry’s seat in a 2013 special election after the 2004 presidential runner-up resigned to become the Secretary of State.

Schilling’s task of winning a U.S. Senate seat from Massachusetts won’t be easy. Eight of the 11 U.S. senators from Massachusetts since 1953 have been Democrats.
