BOSTON — Hanley Ramirez has made demolishing baseballs a regular habit.
The Red Sox first baseman hit a monster three-run homer to walk off with a win in Thursday’s game against the New York Yankees and knocked out a solo shot Friday, and Ramirez did it again Sunday, hitting a laser of a home run to one of the light posts on the Green Monster. The three-run blast off starter CC Sabathia cut the Yankees’ lead to 4-3 in the fifth inning.
The home run was Ramirez’s 27th on the season and his eighth in September alone. Only the Minnesota Twins’ Brian Dozier (9) has more this month.
