LSU-Auburn Game Ends In Absolute Chaos After Refs Overturn Last-Second Touchdown

For a moment, it appeared Les Miles and No. 18 LSU pulled off an incredible last-second victory Saturday over Auburn.

With one second remaining, LSU quarterback Danny Etling found wide receiver D.J. Chark for what appeared to be the game-winning touchdown at Jordan-Hare Stadium. However, upon further review, the TD was overturned because LSU didn’t snap the ball in time.

The chaos started well before that play, though.

LSU was in that situation after it was called for an illegal shift on the previous play, and since it wasn’t a dead-ball penalty, it was allowed one more shot at the end zone. But one second proved to be too little time to get the snap off, as Auburn secured the 18-13 win.
