The Boston Red Sox got one step closer to winning the American League East on Monday, and they didn’t even step on the field.

Boston’s magic number to clinch the division is down to one by virtue of a New York Yankees come-from-behind 7-5 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. They also now hold the AL’s best record thanks to the Milwaukee Brewers, who knocked off the Texas Rangers 8-3 on Monday.

In the AL Central, the Cleveland Indians clinched their first division title since 2007 by defeating the Detroit Tigers 7-4.
