Patriots To Unveil Color Rush Alternate Uniforms Tuesday, Wear Them Vs. Texans

New England Patriots fans soon will get their first look at the team’s Color Rush alternate uniform.

The Patriots will unveil the new uni — which they will wear for next Thursday’s game against the Houston Texans at Gillette Stadium — at 9 a.m. ET on Tuesday, according to the team.

Details about the uniform are scarce, but multiple leaks indicate it likely will be red.

If that graphic is accurate, the Texans will be wearing all blue against the Patriots. The person behind the Twitter account responsible for many of these leaks referred to it as “steel blue,” which is similar to the powder blue worn by the old Houston Oilers.

Patriots fans surely would welcome the return of a red alternate jersey. The team wore red throwbacks once per season from 2009 to 2012, but that set had to be mothballed when the NFL banned the use of alternate helmets in 2013.
