Patriots Wisely Didn’t Call Tim Tebow To Fill Possible Backup QB Need

Tim Tebow is not coming to Foxboro to save the New England Patriots’ season.

Tebow, now a farmhand in the New York Mets’ organization, unsurprisingly didn’t receive a call from the Patriots after Jimmy Garoppolo went down with a shoulder injury.

Obviously this is not news, but to be honest, I kind of missed writing about Tebow. He was a terrible NFL quarterback, and his worst play might have come in his summer with the Patriots in 2013, when he completed just 11 of 30 passes during the preseason for 145 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He was even worse during training camp practices, when he managed to make Ryan Mallett look like Dan Marino.

So, the Patriots will have to make do with Jacoby Brissett, another former Florida quarterback, if Garoppolo can’t play Thursday. Tebow reported to the Mets’ fall instructional league Monday.
