Yoan Moncada officially is a big leaguer.

The Boston Red Sox made a flurry of roster moves ahead of their game against the Athletics in Oakland on Friday, and the infielder’s call-up was among them. Moncada’s Major League Baseball debut has been highly anticipated since he landed the top spot on Baseball America’s midseason top 100 prospects list in July, but he’s not in the starting lineup Friday.

As for the other roster moves, catcher Ryan Hanigan was activated from the 15-day disabled list, where he’s been since Aug. 6 with left ankle tendinitis. Right-hander Joe Kelly, left-hander Robby Scott and infielder Deven Marrero were called up from Pawtucket, while pitcher William Cuevas was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.
