Tom Brady won’t produce any football highlights during the first month of the NFL season, but his Deflategate suspension won’t stop him from making television, either.

The New England Patriots quarterback will help create a TV series that focuses on sports’ impact around the world, The Hollywood Reporter’s Lesley Goldberg reported Wednesday. Brady is teaming with Michael Strahan and filmmaker Gotham Chopra to produce “The Religion of Sports,” which will air this fall on The AT&T Audience Network.

“I’ll never forget watching ‘The Catch’ in Candlestick Park with my dad,” Brady said Wednesday in a statement. “I was 4 years old, in awe of it all. In a lot of ways, I’ve dedicated my life to replicating that feeling. Now, playing on the same stage as my childhood idols, I’m fortunate to have a pretty unique perspective on football and the sports world. I can think of no better vehicle than ‘Religion of Sports’ to share some of what I’ve learned and dig a little deeper into that feeling, the sort of spiritual experience that sports creates for players and fans alike.”

“The Religion of Sports” will debut Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. ET. Five more hourlong episodes will follow.

Brady will have returned from his suspension by then, re-assuming his normal role as a football player.

Patriots fans probably hope “The Religion of Sports” is good but not too good … lest Brady starts entertaining ideas of spending more time on TV production and less on playing quarterback.
