Sunday marked the end of an era in Los Angeles and all of baseball, as legendary broadcaster Vin Scully said goodbye to Dodgers fans in his final game behind the microphone at Dodger Stadium.
The 88-year-old is wrapping up the final season of his Hall of Fame career — a season that has been filled with tributes from all over baseball. With Sunday marking Scully’s final Chavez Ravine broadcast, the Dodgers paid special tribute to the all-time great.
Perhaps none was nicer than each and every Dodgers player in the starting lineup tipping their cap toward Scully as they went to the plate for their first at-bat.
Naturally, the ever-humble Scully didn’t even realize at first the Dodgers were paying him tribute.

And then, perhaps fittingly, the Dodgers won the game in dramatic fashion, tying it in the ninth and then winning on a walk-off home run in the 10th, allowing Scully one more historic call.

As the team congregated on the field to celebrate, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and the rest of his club paused to salute Scully in a touching moment.

Scully also had a chance to say goodbye to the fans with a heartfelt message after the game.

The walk-off win clinched the National League West title for the Dodgers, and the ensuing postgame celebration made for this incredible photo.
