CM Punk’s big UFC debut couldn’t have gone much worse.
Punk finally stepped into the octagon at UFC 203, where he faced up-and-coming fighter Mickey Gall.
The buildup for the fight was huge due to Punk’s superstar status as a former WWE wrestler, but he looked completely outmatched against Gall. Gall got Punk down right away, and he delivered multiple blows to the back of his opponent’s head and finally finished him via submission (rear-naked choke) at the 2:14 mark in the first round.
Punk had a very positive outlook afterward, though.
