Expectations for Brad Marchand are sky-high right after his 2015-16 season and five-point effort in the Boston Bruins’ season opener.
So how does Marchand deal with the added pressure? Well, for one, he tries to take the advice of coach Claude Julien to be more like his superstar teammate.
“It does, I think, a bit,” Marchand told NESN’s Jack Edwards on Saturday during “Bruins Face-Off Live” of how his play changes his own expectations. “One thing that Claude has always talked to me about is not focusing so much on that aspect of the game but being more like Bergy (Bergeron), an overall player — a 200-foot player. And you see all the top teams, every player on the team plays like that, and if you win a championship, you need to play like that.”
