There’s nothing like scoring your first NHL goal. Unfortunately for Brandon Carlo, any memories of the career highlight might have come from, well, watching the highlights.

The Boston Bruins’ rookie defenseman lit the lamp for the first time in his NHL career during Monday’s 4-1 road victory over the Winnipeg Jets, and he caught up with NESN’s Sarah Davis for a pretty terrific postgame interview to discuss his milestone accomplishment. Spoiler alert: He was so excited he can hardly even remember it happening.

Check out what Carlo and teammate David Pastrnak had to say about their performances in the above video from “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United Bank.
