The Carolina Panthers’ disappointing start to the 2016 NFL season apparently isn’t the only issue quarterback Cam Newton is facing.

According to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ Sports, Newton is being sued by actress Stacy Keibler’s husband, Jared Pobre, for allegedly causing nearly $100,000 in damage to a Beverly Hills, Calif., mansion the Panthers quarterback rented back in March, shortly after his team lost to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.

Newton reportedly paid $123,000 to rent the $11 million mansion for 61 days and agreed there would be no parties, no smoking and no more than eight guests. But a housekeeper reportedly told the rental company managed by Pobre that Newton had thrown several parties and that cigarette ashes were being left all over the house.

Pobre reportedly wanted Newton to pay $90,324.47 for the damages, which allegedly included a broken refrigerator, water damage to the floors, ruined linens and a destroyed $32,000 rug. Newton didn’t pay, though. So now, according to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ Sports, Pobre wants the reigning NFL MVP to pay $270,324.47 — a total combining the damages and $180,000 the company supposedly lost in rent during the two months it took to complete the repairs — plus legal fees.
