A quiet weekend in the ACC kicks off Thursday when the Virginia Tech Hokies welcome the Miami Hurricanes as six-point betting favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Virginia Tech will be trying to get back on track following last week’s 31-17 loss in Syracuse as massive 23-point chalk, which bounced them from the AP Top 25 rankings heading into Thursday night’s Hurricanes vs. Hokies betting matchup at Lane Stadium.

The Hokies were undefeated in their previous three games, outscoring opponents by a massive 134-20 margin, briefly lifting them to No. 17 in the national rankings.

The Hurricanes also find themselves outside the Top 25 following a pair of outright losses as home chalk to ACC rivals Florida State and North Carolina. That ended Miami’s six-game regular-season straight up and against the spread winning streak and marks the first time it failed to reach 20 points in consecutive games since the start of the 2014 season.

However, Miami has enjoyed recent success against the Hokies, going 3-1 SU and ATS in their past four meetings according to the OddsShark College Football Database, including a 30-6 win as 2.5-point favorites in their most recent visit to Blacksburg, Va., in 2014.

Meanwhile, the Orange will try to build on last weekend’s upset win over Virginia Tech when they visit the Boston College Eagles on Saturday as 4.5-point underdogs.

Last week’s win lifted Syracuse to 3-4 SU on the season and 2-2 SU in their past four games against ACC rivals. However, the Orange have produced mixed results against Boston College of late, going 2-2 SU and ATS in their past four meetings, including a 28-7 loss as 11-point underdogs at Alumni Stadium two years ago.

The Eagles have shown vast improvement over last season, recording a 3-3 SU record to date, but are winless in the conference, most recently suffering a 56-10 loss to Clemson as 18-point home underdogs.

No. 7 Louisville will try to keep its College Football Playoff hopes alive as well this weekend, taking on the visiting North Carolina State Wolfpack as 19-point betting favorites.

The Cardinals remain stalled in the national rankings after struggling in a 24-14 win over Duke last weekend, while N.C. State looked impressive in defeat last week, covering as 20-point underdogs in a 24-17 loss to the Tigers for their fourth straight ATS win.

And the Tar Heels look to continue their rise on the AP Top 25 as they visit Virginia as 8.5-point betting favorites. UNC climbed to No. 22 following their win over Miami, while the Cavaliers look to end a 1-3 SU run at home and extend their ATS record to 5-2.
