Dana White Open To UFC Signing Greg Hardy But Doesn’t Believe He’ll Have Talent

Dana White isn’t against Greg Hardy joining UFC, but that doesn’t mean the company’s president believes the former NFL star will be good enough to make it.

Hardy is pursuing a mixed martial arts career, and it has been met with plenty of controversy. Hardy was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend in 2014, but the charges later were dropped when the victim didn’t appear in court. So, needless to say, plenty of people don’t want to see Hardy being paid to beat up people.

And while White said on FOX Sports’ “Speak For Yourself” that he would be open to signing Hardy, he was pretty blunt about the fact that he doesn’t believe that will happen.

“I’m one of those guys who believes that we’re all human beings and we all make mistakes,” White said, via ESPN. “When you make a mistake, you pay your penance, whatever it may be, and you should be allowed to make a living and move on in your life. But is he good enough to come into the UFC and fight? I highly doubt it.”

White was clear that just because Hardy is an athlete doesn’t mean he can jump right into mixed martial arts.

“I’ve been playing football for a couple weeks, too, maybe I’ll try out for the Patriots,” White said. “It takes a little bit longer than that, but he could fight at one of these small shows. We’ll see how he looks.”
