Earl Thomas got a little overexcited after scoring a touchdown Sunday, and it cost him.

The Seattle Seahawks safety picked up the football and ran it to the end zone when New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram fumbled early in the first quarter. Thomas’ touchdown gave the Seahawks a 7-0 lead, and he was so jazzed that he wanted to share his happiness with the people around him.

Including a nearby side judge.

Unsurprisingly, hugging the official earned Thomas a 15-yard penalty. The ref appears to smirk as he throws the flag, though, so it looks like there aren’t any hard feelings.
