Fantasy Football Week 6 Waiver Wire: Must-Drop Players From Your Lineup

The NFL season is five weeks old, and if your fantasy football team is hurting, it’s time to make roster changes. Waiting too long to make moves often is the downfall of fantasy owners.

Here are five players to drop entering Week 6.

Brock Osweiler, QB, Houston Texans
Osweiler is completing just 58 percent of his passes with six touchdowns and seven interceptions through five games. He was dreadful in Houston’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, completing just 19 of 42 passes for 184 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Osweiler has zero 300-yard games, and he’s also thrown an interception in every contest. He’s no longer a quality option in standard scoring leagues that use one quarterback per week.

Charles Sims, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sims is averaging 2.8 yards per carry this season. He ran for just 1.9 yards per attempt on 15 carries last week against the Denver Broncos. A lot of people picked up Sims when Doug Martin went down with an injury, but Tampa Bay’s backup running back has been a disappointment in three of his four games this season. It’s time to drop Sims and find a more consistent running back.

Derrick Henry, RB, Tennessee Titans
The former Heisman Trophy winner isn’t playing poorly — he’s averaging 4.4 yards per carry. Henry just isn’t receiving enough touches to be fantasy relevant on a consistent basis. He’s been given fewer than 10 carries in four of Tennessee’s five games, and he has caught just three passes over that same span (none in the last three games).

Golden Tate, WR, Detroit Lions
Tate has been one of the most disappointing fantasy receivers this season. He still has zero touchdowns and zero games with 50 or more receiving yards. Tate’s also not making an impact in PPR leagues, as he has less than five receptions in four of his five games. It’s time to drop him for a more reliable wideout.

New York Jets Defense
The Jets gave up 31 points to the high-powered Pittsburgh Steelers in a Week 5 loss, and they face another tough test in Week 6 on the road against the Arizona Cardinals. New York is allowing 27.2 points per game and it has forced just two turnovers all season (none in the last three games). This defense isn’t performing anywhere near expectations.
