Golden Tate’s secure status as a professional football player didn’t stop him from testing himself in a new field.

The Detroit Lions wide receiver celebrated the touchdown he scored on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams by joining his team’s cheerleaders in a dance of joy. He borrowed a pair of pom poms and busted a move on beat with the rest of the Lions crew.

Tate’s touchdown tied the score late in the fourth quarter, and the Lions went on to win 31-28.

The touchdown and dance highlighted a breakout performance for Tate, who caught eight passes for 165 yards and scored that key touchdown — his first of the season.

Tate now joins Terrell Owens among NFL receivers who have danced with cheerleaders in recent years.

It was funny when Owens did it back then and remains so to this day.
