Exaggeration is essential to boxing promotion, but Adrien Broner’s social media activity is scaring his friends and fans.

TMZ reported Wednesday that Broner’s friends are concerned he might be having suicidal thoughts after the boxer posted disturbing messages on Instagram earlier in the day.

Broner started by uploading an image that read “3 p.m.: I’m doing it I’m sorry to my family and friends but I don’t want to be here no more this s**t too much.”

He then posted a photo of a handgun and wrote, “I’m going home I love y’all.”

He made another post, which read “25 minutes” shortly thereafter.

TMZ tried in vain to contact Broner and reported at least one of his friends asked the police to check on him.

Broner, 27, has a career 32-2 record, but boxing should take a back seat to more urgent priorities for the former WBA world super-lightweight champion.
