Jason Kipnis Made A Pretty Bold Joke To David Ortiz Before ALDS Game 3

BOSTON — David Ortiz’s career is one American League Division Series loss away from ending in disappointing fashion.

Ortiz’s Red Sox entered Monday trailing the Cleveland Indians two games to zero in the ALDS. That means their season is over if they don’t win Game 3 of the best-of-five series at Fenway Park, which would put quite a damper on Big Papi’s magical final year.

Apparently, the Indians are pretty confident they’ll end things Monday night. MLB Network’s Heidi Watney caught this humorous exchange between Ortiz and Cleveland second baseman Jason Kipnis during pregame batting practice:

That’s some pretty solid trash talk, Jason.

So far, the Indians have backed up Kipnis’ smack with some solid play, while the Red Sox haven’t exactly delivered for Big Papi. But Ortiz is one of the best clutch hitters in MLB history for a reason, and if he can help Boston extend this series, we’re sure he’ll let Kipnis hear about it.
