Watch LSU’s Leonard Fournette Bulldoze Ole Miss Defender On Record Setting Night

Ole Miss defensive back Deontay Anderson likely will be a mere footnote in Leonard Fournette’s career. Note the emphasis on “foot.”

Founette, LSU’s highly touted running back, ran over Anderson during the Tigers’ 38-21 win Saturday in a play neither man will soon forget. Anderson tried to stop one of Founette’s long runs early in the contest only to find himself flat on the turf — a victim of the LSU star’s proverbial “truck stick.”

Fournette’s bulldozing of Anderson was one of just several highlights during a night in which he set an LSU rushing record with 284 yards on just 16 attempts for an eye-popping 17.8 yards per carry. Fournette needed just eight carries to set the new mark, largely thanks to three touchdown runs of 78, 76 and 59 yards. It was the fifth 200-yard game of the junior’s college career.

Astonishingly, Fournett exploded in his first game back from an ankle injury that had sidelined him for a month. So much for rust.

Alley Broussard previously set LSU’s record for rushing yards in a game with 250 back in 2004. Ole Miss also was LSU’s opponent in Broussard’s bonanza.

As was Anderson’s case, Broussard’s standard was no match for Fournette.
